Dearest Readers,
Apologies for deserting you for a few days. One of the interesting aspects of writing is that while you do try to write every day, the reality is that is difficult. Every now and then you need a break because the mind is no different than the body: overuse it and nothing productive is accomplished.
Now, honestly, breaks are rare. The last time a took some time off from writing was a couple of years ago and the length of the break is never very long. A change of scenery. A lot of sleep. Some catching up on our personal reading and voila, we are ready to go again. Actually, we are anxious to get back at it again, which is exactly what a writer, or any artist, is looking for. I was actually back at the keyboard after a couple of days, primarily on something I am working on under another name, but on some Kaitlyn stuff, too. The writer’s trade is always there to be plied.
I hope all of you are enjoying Short Story Saturday. While still not having taken the entire planet by storm yet, the response to One Plus One Equals Three has been good. I’m glad you like getting to know Daniella, Nicole and Brady and the naughty stuff you expect from me will start soon enough. No, I am not telling you how much experience I have in these matters. None of your beeswax.
Today we have a quote for you, and following blogs will have an artsy-fartsy quote, too. Today’s quote is from noted filmmaker Federico Fellini:
All art is autobiographical. The pearl is the oyster’s autobiography.
So it is with any artist: our journey is to take you someplace you have never been. With every word, I try to take you someplace that stirs you.
xoxoxo
